Organization (Denomination): Works with Har HaShem, Haver: Rabbinic Association of Boulder and Veterans Helping Veterans

Programs/Services you run/offer: At Har HaShem, I run the following programs:Ruthie Gelfarb

  • Family School – monthly Shabbat afternoon program for families with K-8 grade children which includes a potluck dinner, community building and havdallah
  • Director of Har HaShem Adult Education Program
  • Tikkun Middot Chug – a 10 month intergenerational character development program which includes meditation, 1:1 spiritual guidance, group process, text study and chevruata (partner study time)
  • Lead Friday night services a few times a year

Specialty within Judaism: Working with interfaith families and couples, mussar – character development through a Jewish lens with group support, and Jewish history and thought

One Jewish event in Boulder you recommend: Har HaShem Purim Shpiel (parody play)

One secular event in Boulder you recommend:
Boulder International Film Festival

Hobbies: hiking with my dog, watching the cooking channel, doing Jewish internationally (Ghana, Costa Rica etc.), performing improvisation

Who is your favorite Jew? Raish Lakish – convict turned rabbinic sage

What is your favorite Jewish holiday? It’s a tie between Passover and Shabbat.

What is your favorite Jewish food? Charoset
